About

I was born in Agrigento, Italy, in 1978. After earning a degree in Natural Sciences and completing further studies in Evolutionary Anthropology, I discovered a passion for photography and began my journey as a self-taught photographer. My early work focused on wildlife photography, but over time I developed a deep interest in photojournalism. From 2007 to 2010, I worked in Sicily for ANSA, Italy’s leading press agency, producing several photographic reports on human migration from Africa to Italy across the Strait of Sicily. In 2011, I moved to Milan and began working full-time as a photojournalist for AGF photographic agency, ANSA, and later REUTERS. My work spans news, entertainment, business, politics, society, and fashion. Between 2020 and 2021, I covered for REUTERS the outbreak and impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in Lombardy, the first region outside Asia severely affected by the virus. After nearly fifteen years in photojournalism, I chose to return to my scientific roots. Since 2022, I have been working full-time as an environmental consultant and naturalist. Today, I continue to cultivate photography — mostly focused on nature but still attentive to human presence within it — as a personal language to observe, understand, and connect with the world around us.
